Recent researches have showed that there are more and more people who are suffering from SAD (Seasonal Mood Disorders). And we are not talking here about an unimportant mental disorder. The manifestation of SAD varies a lot. Most of the people suffer from the milder version of it, but there is a small percentage of patience that is suffering at a level of clinical severity. This happens mostly in the countries from the northern hemisphere. In order to understand this mental disorder, we must put an accent on what causes it to manifest, and not on its effects. Due to climacteric conditions, in the northern hemisphere there are four seasons. When winter comes, not only we face low temperatures, but also smaller days, bigger nights and less sunlight.

This aggravates in the most Nordic countries from Europe and America, such as the Scandinavia countries, Canada and Alaska. It is actually really hard to work and stay positive in the winter, snowy months. Seasonal affective disorders have a tendency of becoming severe after each week that passes. If it is not treated, SAD can lead to clinical depression, which is not a great thing to have and suffer from. Some people treat their SAD simply by spending more time outdoors, but the improvements are not significant.

Why? Well, because winter is not a period when the sun is shinning up in the ski, like in summer for example. This is why there were invented some SAD lights. Their usage is usually known as light therapy. Although this entire therapy is based on nothing new, thousands of patients use this method. The first improvements are usually seen within 4 or 5 days. This thematic is tempting and it is really interesting to discuss about this subject. There are plenty of lights for SAD, as well as tips and tricks to keep a healthy and positive attitude, even in the winter months. Do not feel discouraged, even if the sun is not shinning as it used to, when it was summer.
